How do I buy an original?
I try to create as many original paintings as possible throughout the year. You can see what I’m up to via Instagram and Facebook where I post updates on a regular basis. If you see something that I’m working on that you think you might like, contact me for a preview. Artworks will be made available for purchase on my website. They will also be on sale at The Field market (https://www.fieldmarket.co.za/) where I exhibit once a month; visit their website for exhibition dates.
Absolutely! If you’d like to work on a custom piece created specifically for your space, feel free to reach out and let me know what you have in mind. I accept a handful of commissioned pieces each year and work directly with collectors worldwide.
First, let’s get a few things out of the way so you know what you can expect from this process.
Here’s what I love to do: Anything with similar themes to what’s already in my work (bees, bugs, birds, animals, flowers, etc.) I typically won’t accept any commissioned artwork that wouldn’t seamlessly fit into my current portfolio of artwork.
Here’s what I don’t do: Standard portraits of people and/or pets that require a likeness. I prefer not to commit to this because I fear I won’t capture the essence of your loved ones.
I’m usually able to work within your budget, but I can also provide you with a quote based on size and complexity. If the commissioned piece you have in mind fits well into my workflow and meets your timeline, I can accommodate the project. Email me with what you have in mind and we can work together to get your idea to fruition.
There’s a lot of trust and communication required in this process, especially in the beginning, this is very important for a great experience for everyone involved!
Do you accept orders placed outside of South Africa?
Of course. Please email me directly so that I can quote you directly regarding pricing and shipping etc.The buyer is responsible for all duties and customs taxes. I know they suck, I’m sorry!
What about shipping costs?
Shipping is free on all prints and small paintings (sized 300mm and less) to major cities and towns within South Africa. Larger paintings will have an additional cost that will be emailed to you as soon as I have a quote from the courier, please allow for this. For international shipping costs please email me for a direct quote on shipping.
I bought a painting or a print. Does this mean I own the copyright?
No, it does not. You own the painting / print, but not the copyright. This means that it is illegal for you to reproduce the painting / print for profit or to use the image in any way without my explicit permission. I retain all the rights to all the artworks I create. I retain the right to make reproductions of any and all artwork I create unless the collector has purchased the full or partial rights to the artwork (this is in addition to purchasing the original). The collector or buyer may not reproduce the artwork in any way without written permission. If the artwork ends up being reproduced in a magazine or other media I only ask for credit. When you purchase an original painting you, the collector, have the right to display the artwork in your home or business but the artwork may not be resold or reproduced without my written permission. Some collectors choose to purchase my right to reproduce the artwork to ensure that it will never become a print. Please let me know if you would like to do this.

What is the graphic design process?
First, I will arrange a meeting with you to find out more about your story, ideas and what you would like to have designed. Once I have a good idea, I’ll set up your personalized quotation with the full process and details, estimated costs and timeline. Once the quote has been approved, I’ll send through your invoice with banking details to secure your spot with a 50% deposit. Then the research and development of your design takes place. I will immerse myself in your project and come up with some options for you to choose from. Once you are 100% happy with the designs the balance of the invoice is due. Once I have received payment, I will release all the digital files and printed goods to you.
How long will the designs take?
Every job is different, and every deadline is different. You should allow sufficient time for the designing and proofing of your work. If your deadline is very tight, I’ll do my best to accommodate you where I can. I will, of course, advise at the time of the work.
How much time should I allow for Wedding Invitation design?
Wedding invitations should go out 6-8 weeks before your wedding, Save The Dates can go out as early as you book your wedding, but ideally no closer than 6 months out. Design and production of your suites will usually take 2 months. If you do not have quite that much time, then check out the semi-custom house collection!
Do you do bespoke wedding invitations?
Yes, I do. If you love my design style and would like me to create something truly unique that tells your story, I’d love to work with you.
Do you do returns?
My goal is for you to be completely thrilled with your purchase. Every order is handled with care and with as much clarity and transparency as possible. Please email me prior to purchase if you have any questions or concerns. All sales are final except in certain situations. Please take the time to read descriptions carefully and to check colours on multiple screens if you are concerned about colour variations. Personally, I think my work always looks better in reality than online.
Do you do tattoo designs or commissions?
No, I do not. I prefer to leave that to the professionals.
